Tips For Computer Vision Syndrome
- 1.
Sharpen the image...
- a)
Adjust the monitor so that letters show up on a
light background. Experiment to find the most
comfortable brightness, contrast and typefaces.
b) Use a 20 inch screen if possible.

Reduce glare...
- a)
From a window: Place the monitor perpendicular to
the window. Adjust shades or blinds to minimize
the amount of direct light on the screen.
b) From lighting: Use soft, low-glare
lights.
c) Use an AOA approved glare screen on the
monitor.
d) Keep the screen and eyewear clean.

Rest often...
- a)
Blink to keep eyes moist.
b) Take frequent breaks by looking away from
the screen, then closing the eyes.

Adjust the screen and papers...
- a)
Keep the monitor about 18 to 24 inches away. (slightly
less than an arm's length.)
b) Position the monitor so its top is just
below eye level.
c) Keep the screen and working documents at
the same distance and close together.

Sit comfortably...
- a)
Use an adjustable chair with good support.
- b)
Stand up and stretch at regular intervals.
